...One problem is that there are so many wedding photographers to choose from. All offer a slightly different service and most charge very different prices too. To try and help you make the right choice for your big day, I put together a selection of tips to point you in the right direction.
...2 Ask to see complete wedding albums. If someone has been photographing weddings for another year or two the chances are that they can scrape together enough footage to produce a good portfolio. Insist on seeing the complete albums from recent weddings.
Find out exactly what is included in the price. If you say you will get a specific album to make sure that you show the album itself. Do not let them show you the best album you have to say one will be similar. Make sure you are satisfied with what you will be given.
Make sure the price we quote includes everything. You do not want to find out later that the prints will cost more money, you have to pay travel expenses, VAT and other taxes are not included, the CD costs more pictures, or even that you have to pay the postage. Get the full offer in writing.
Make sure they can shoot the style of wedding photography you want. If you want a modern reportage style, do not take for granted that the photographer can only do so because they are good traditional style images, and vice versa.
If you have your own ideas and then discuss them with the photographer in front of him and that they were committed. This helps to avoid disappointment later. a good photographer will always be able to incorporate their own ideas in a day.
Looking for recommendations and check them out. photographer with a series of happy customers will be only too happy to other people to confirm their ability.
Discuss back up equipment they use. For example, if they do not carry a spare camera and are using breaks down then there will be no pictures!
Make sure you are covered on the site before the wedding. If not, find out whether or not to visit the place beforehand. If they do then this should get them tick in the box as someone willing to go the extra mile.
Make time to see more than one photographer. Choosing the right wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you make. Choose the wrong one and you can not start the day and try again!
